Acrimony by Michael Bowman

Michael bowman is a musician from Nanaimo, BC, and also happens to be my husband. The style of his music gears towards the alternative/ambient spectrum. Recently, Erika Ducharme of HonestBlue Digital Magazine published an interview of his album Acrimony. I have been working with HonestBlue lately, photographing and videoing interviews. It seemed only fit for me to photograph Michael for his review! We wanted to try and capture the dark atmosphere of his album and translate it into his portrait.

Acrimony owes it's visual theme to Timm Suess and his stunning photography. He captured beautiful shots of Chernobyl which Michael used for the cover art and inside the lyric booklet. The image above is of the Pripyat hospital near the site of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power-plant disaster. His website is listed below.

I managed to capture a great profile shot of Michael to go beside his album cover above. It almost looks as though the light on Michael's face is coming from the waiting room window.

We also took some more casual pictures that could be used as a montage.
